The Annoying Protester
That was me yesterday when I saw Mako.
Ohhhh I really want him. Like really, really want him.
It should be illegal to feel this way. Thank you for making me a criminal Mako.
THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS DON’T READ PAST THIS FIRST PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON’T WANT IT SPOILED FOR YOU (AND YOU SHOULD GO READ IT BECAUSE IT WAS PRETTY GOOD AND I FINISHED IT IN A DAY.)
Aside from a few issues I had with the writing, I loved it. I’ve read other people’s reviews that called it…

EONA DREAMCAST
Lee Min-jung as Eona
Lee Dong-wook as Kygo
Cha Seung-won as IdoFinished Eona yesterday and really enjoyed it (more so than Eon, actually). And as I often do I immediately wanted to cast actors in the roles. Well, to be honest, Cha Seung-won just popped into my head right away for Ido (despite being the completely wrong age) and I figured I might as well get the other two leads.
Eona and Kygo were much harder choices.
Kygo was difficult because so many of the actors I’m familiar with are these baby-faces and you need someone who can run a country with a great deal of strength and poise, but is still young and not entirely comfortable in the role. I’ve only seen Lee Dong-wook in Scent of a Woman, but he’s got the serious nature and also the playfulness that Kygo sometimes let shine through.
As for Eona… Moon Geum-young would knock any role out of the park. Plus for anyone that’s seen Painter of the Wind you know she can pass as a boy. Yoon Eun-hye and Park Shin-hye were other options for obvious reasons, but I adore Lee Min-jung. I know she’s a good comedic actress and I’ve seen her be more serious to decent amount of success. Eona would be a difficult role, someone torn between the desire for power and control over what is right and far, far more difficult. Eona is selfish in many, many ways, and wrong a lot of the time (OH BOY) but she learns and grows.
